| As a result of his motivation to excel and propel his career, he has been afforded the opportunity to work at various corporations and federal government agencies. Beginning with an internship provided by INROADS, Inc., Mr. Britt has gone on to hold positions with two other large corporations – Lockheed Martin and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He has also used his technical skills to further high profile projects with Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon, the White House, and the Central Intelligence Agency. While fulfilling his duties, he has traveled to Europe and the Middle East.
Mr. Britt has a long and distinguished record of achievement. His outstanding work, both academic and extracurricular, has earned him numerous awards and honors. A partial list of these honors includes State of Maryland Merit Scholastic Award, the President's Educational Award, and being nominated International Who's Who in Information Technology. The Carl Rowan Foundation, founded by the renowned journalist, the late Carl Rowan Sr, also featured him in the June 2, 1996 issue of JET magazine for his academic accomplishments. Mr. Britt actively participates in numerous technical, non-profit and volunteer organizations. He is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, Black Data Processing Associates, New Light Leadership Coalition, Federation of American Scientists and TechCorps of Maryland. His leadership roles have included Member, Board of Directors, NLLC, Inc; co-Chair and Founder of the Capitol College Student Council; President of the National Society of Black Engineers – Capitol College Chapter. Originally, from Indianapolis, Indiana, Charles is a highly sought after speaker, mentor, and workshop presenter in the Washington, DC area. His insightful workshops on topics such as the “Digital Divide”, Career Planning, Self-Motivation and Effective Leadership have inspired many youth and adults alike. Having spoke and presented at several conferences, schools and other events, he is considered by many to be one of the next most influential African Americans in America. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for New Light Leadership Coalition, Inc. |
