Join the NLLC Speakers Bureau

The NLLC Speakers' Bureau welcomes all types of speakers. We are particularly interested in youth speakers (under age 25), although nationally known leaders, experts, and authors who speak professionally are also welcome to join. Even if you speak without charging a fee, you may join our speakers' bureau. If you are a local activist who would like to speak primarily in or around your hometown area, you are invited to be a part of the NLLC Speaker's Bureau.

When speakers are paid for speeches booked through us, they donate 20 percent of what they are paid to NLLC, excluding travel and lodging expenses. When speeches are made at no charge, a nominal fee is due to the Coalition from the booking organization.

In return for these fees, the NLLC Speakers' Bureau website will include a profile of each speaker including a picture, bio, topics of expertise, and request form. This site is a part of the Coalition's main website which averages 500 hits per week. The NLLC Speaker's Bureau is marketed through our newsletter, email list, and promotional mailings.

Once you are added to the Speakers' Bureau, your Speaker Profile page will be added to the site with the information you submit to us. When the speaker request form is filled out by a booking organization about a potential speaking engagement, a copy of this email will be sent to you and carbon copied to us. From there, you and the booking organization will work out fees, travel & lodging, and other details.

There are several benefits of being a member of the Speakers Bureau. These include:
Networking opportunities at NLLC events and functions
Existing videotapes, audiotapes, and printed copies of past speeches may be made available on the NLLC website.
Books or other media products (e.g. slide presentations, CDs, etc.) of members may likewise be made available through the website.
News and opinion feature articles you submit may be included in NLLC's Horizon Newsletter and/or on the NLLC main website.

We require all of our speakers to:
Pay annual membership dues ($15 youth/$50 adult--to be taken out of first paid speaking engagement of the year).
Speak on topics pertaining to youth issues (particularly leadership development)
Provide NLLC with an audio or videotape of the speaker addressing an audience for review
Provide a short biography and photograph (optional) for the NLLC website
