Marquis Holcomb is a 16-year old native Washingtonian. He is an 11th
grader in the Business and

a third year Delta level participant in the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Institute,
a four- year leadership and development program for youth in the

hobbies and interests include sports, traveling, computers, reading, singing,
politics, law and spiritual development.
He is a
member of the

community activities include being a member of Peace in the Streets, The YMCA
Youth in Government Program and a volunteer at the
Tyrell is
a Ward 7 resident and is the son of Ms. Lynette Holcomb and has 4 brothers and
3 sisters. His major goals as Youth Mayor are to be a catalyst for getting
youth involved in their communities and civic activities and to help come up
with ideas to decrease youth violence and crime.
Tyrell’s
motto in life is “Don’t sit and wait for change, but take the initiative to
make a difference.”
